Geoff Blackwell
Having heard the theory everyone has a book inside them, Geoff Blackwell decided perhaps he’d better let his out. The result was his first novel The Four Baristas of the Apocalypse, a story based loosely on the undeniable logic that if a good cup of coffee can save your day, then it stands to reason a barista should be able to save the world.
An optometrist by day and author by night, Geoff’s childhood in the small Australian country town of Goondiwindi probably goes some way towards explaining his overactive imagination, while his status as the sole male in both his family and workplace may well account for the preponderance of strong female characters in his stories.
He has so far written sci-fi, fantasy, sci-fantasy, thriller and children’s picture books, and one day may even pick a genre and stick to it. He is partial to coffee, potato chips, cricket (the sport, not the insect) and his family, although not necessarily in that order or at the same time.
